For the city of Zug and in collaboration with IG Mountainbike Zug, Velosolutions planned and built the “Zugerbergtrail” in 2016.
The trail is 2.1km in length and has a vertical drop of 340m, plenty of little jumps, berms and technical features. It’s a a red trail with multiple black options to challenge the more advanced riders whilst the intermediate rolls make the red “chicken line“ safe and sound. It took our team 2.5 months to build it. The start of the trail is right at the top of the Zugerbergbahn, the finish near the bottom, so it can easily be accessed with the little train going up the mountain all day long. For those who want to pedal up, it’s an easy pedal on the paved road. The trail is loved by beginners and experts and sees up to 30,000 rides per year. It was built with the purpose of removing traffic from the hiking trails in the area.
