1300 m² Pump Track in Gross-Umstadt

1.300 m² of space for an asphalt pump track including a disability-friendly training track for wheelchair user or strider bikes. Sounds too good to be true? Well it isn’t at the hessian city Groß-Umstadt. Since May 2017 a new member of the Velosolutions asphalt Pumptrack family thrills the local bike, skate and BMX community.

The key figures from the opening session show that the pump track in Gross-Umstadt is a winner: About 5000 rounds and more than 500 km were done in one day on the «Umstädter Pump Track», the first one of its kind in Hesse. This multifunctional sports facility was financed by the EU LEADER program, the city Groß-Umstadt and local sponsors. Thanks to the local kids and youth support 2000 tons of foundation and 170 tons of asphalt have been turned into a pump track which plays a vital role for the local recreation offer. «This pump track is the perfect addition to the already built skate park. With these two sports grounds, we can bring the kids to lay down their smartphones and get back on their bikes or skateboards», confirms Jospeh Paris, the youth supporter of Groß-Umstadt.
